At its core, the 617 is designed for precision and reliability. The double/single-action trigger system allows for rapid follow-up shots or deliberate single-action firing. The adjustable rear sight pairs with a gold bead front sight for quick sight alignment, while the ball detent lockup system ensures tight, consistent cylinder-to-barrel alignment with every pull of the trigger.
With its beveled cylinder and no internal lock configuration, this model prioritizes mechanical smoothness and shooter preference. The TGW Bear Hug wood grips provide a custom look and comfortable hold, ideal for extended range sessions. Whether you’re a rimfire enthusiast, a S&W collector, or someone seeking the perfect training revolver, the 617 delivers outstanding versatility and performance.
