The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 38 2.0 is built around a double-action-only trigger system that provides consistent, simplified operation for defensive use, with an ambidextrous center-mounted cylinder release for intuitive left or right-handed reloads under stress. The integrated Crimson Trace red laser provides rapid target acquisition in low-light and no-light defensive situations, complemented by an orange dot front sight and notch rear sight for reliable aiming in any lighting condition. The .38 Special +P rating ensures compatibility with a wide range of defensive ammunition for maximum terminal performance.
The laser-equipped compact carry revolver features a boot-style polymer grip that improves handling and recoil management while maintaining a compact footprint for comfortable concealment in a pocket, holster, or ankle rig. The PVD-coated stainless steel cylinder delivers long-term corrosion resistance through daily carry and hard use, and the aluminum alloy frame keeps total weight at just 14.4 oz for all-day carry comfort. At 6.5″ overall and 1.35″ wide, this is one of the lightest and most capable laser-equipped .38 Special revolvers available for everyday carry.
The Bodyguard 38 platform has been one of Smith & Wesson’s most trusted compact revolver designs since its introduction, earning widespread adoption among concealed carry permit holders, law enforcement backup gun users, and personal protection enthusiasts who demand a reliable, simplified defensive tool in a pocket-friendly package. The 2.0 update refines that proven platform with modern ergonomic improvements, enhanced sights, and the integration of Crimson Trace laser technology for a complete, factory-ready defensive revolver that requires no additional accessories or modifications. For shooters who want a no-compromise, laser-equipped .38 Special carry revolver built on decades of Smith & Wesson reliability, the Bodyguard 38 2.0 delivers.
